Mexico - Impressions of San Miguel de Allende

SMA is a small colonial town in the mountains of Central Mexico which flourished from a series of artists' colonies after WW2. A world heritage cultural site with a centre largely unchanged since the 18th Century.  During two winters visiting SMA, I've responded to the day to day street life, its colour and rich mestizaje (cultural mixing) of its peoples; such variety from local street sellers, indigenous natives (decendants of Chichemeca tribes), American ex-pats, and wealthy Mexico city tourists.

This collection is an edit from photos including some shot during the many winter celebrations; Bicentenary of the Mexican Independence, Centenary of the Mexican Revolution, Dia de las Muertas, Day of the Dead  & of course Navidad.
